Continued from Queen Latifah: Jenny Craig Diet.
I do not know what it is about Queen Latiffa that makes her so likeable. I think she is a good role model and if she manages to lose weight on Jenny Craig, she will look even hotter. I would love her to become a success story and an example of what a healthy diet and exercise can do to a body.
In a recent interview, Queen has revealed a lot of information about her weight-loss goal and why she has chosen to use Jenny Craig to lose weight.
How much do you weigh now? I definitely weigh more than 200 pounds. I’m just really solid and kind of muscular. To get under 200 would be a nice little goal, that would be fun. [I want to lose] a minimum of 15 pounds.
What’s your dress size? I don’t know because I don’t really buy my dresses. Everything is made for me – all my clothes! I just keep what they buy. I’m probably between 16 and 18, something like that.
Why did you join Jenny Craig? The holidays have come and gone; it’s time to knock [my weight] down a little bit. I read an article a few months ago that said if you lose five or 10 percent of your body weight, you cut your chances of getting diabetes in half. I was like, “Wow, that’s a good reason to lose some weight.”
Have you started yet? No. I actually put on weight so my weight loss could be even more dramatic and I could reveal myself in a thong – I’m just playing! I’ve been doing what I normally do, eating whatever I want and exercising.
Do you have a goal of when you want to lose the weight by? Within a couple of months. My initial goal weight I think I’ll reach in the first couple months.
What’s your downfall food? Macaroni and cheese. I could eat plates of it! When they have displays of cheese and crackers, I’m like, “I’ll pop a couple of those in my mouth.”
Will you be eating the Jenny Craig food for every meal? Yeah, but you don’t have to eat it constantly. If you’re going out with friends, there’s plenty of stuff on the menu that you can substitute.
Have you tried any crazy diets? No. I watched everybody around me try every diet in existence, and they never work. The truth is, if you want to lose weight and keep it off, you’ve got to change your lifestyle. You’ve got to become more active, and you have to eat right.
You can’t overeat constantly and not exercise; it just doesn’t work like that. Yo-yo dieting, popping pills and all that kind of stuff doesn’t work. I’d rather be naturally me and a little bit overweight than pop all those pills and do all those diets. [via]
