I need to know how to lose 60 pounds. I am 15 year old girl about to turn 16. I weight about 226 pounds, and about 5’6 or 5’7. I am big boned, but I have a lot of excess body fat that I don’t need. The doctor told me that I should be 150 pounds, which make me 50 plus pounds overweight. What do you say is the best and healthiest way for me to lose weight, and make a life change? I have been trying for a very long time, but I keep losing motivation. I am going to be a junior in high school, and my self-confidence is very low because of this. What can I do? Gabby. So, how to lose 60 pounds, well, you asked: Is there the best and the healthiest way to lose weight? Absolutely! While is no best way to lose weight, because “the best” part is very subjective, the healthiest way to lose weight, on the other hand, does exist in my opinion.

Before we move forward with how to lose 60 pounds, read the following posts: this one and this one.

How to lose 60 pounds safely and healthfully Since you need to lose more than 10 pounds, the better prepared you are before you start, the better your chances of successfully reaching your weight-loss goal. You obviously need to come up with an eating plan, you also need to think about an exercise program, but arguably one of the most important aspects of getting ready has to do with setting the right expectations.

People lose motivation to lose weight when they start with unrealistic weight-loss expectations that most of the time have to do with wanting to lose weight as soon as possible. When they see that they are unable to lose weight as fast as they want, they lose motivation to lose weight altogether.

So, let’s set realistic expectations for you. Do not expect to lose more than 2 pounds a week. I am not saying it is impossible to lose more than 2 pounds a week, it is certainly possible, and if you see that you are able to do it, that is great, but you should not expect to lose more than 2 pounds a week.

How to lose 60 pounds by changing your eating habits You need to slowly change your eating habits from eating foods that made you gain weight to healthy foods that will help you lose weight. Try to stay away from fast foods of any kind, and focus on eating vegetables, salads, fish, chicken, meat, eggs, seafood, turkey, good fats, and fruits.

How to lose 60 pounds if you hate exercising Not many people actually like going to the gym. The good news is that you do not have to. What you have to do, however, is to find a way to move around more than you currently do. I recommend walking, biking, hiking or any other activity. It does not really matter what it is. Find any activity you enjoy doing and stick with it.

The bottom line on how to lose 60 pounds First of all, you have to believe that you can reach your weight-loss goal of losing more than 60 pounds. Trust me, it is possible. Second, be consistent. This is very important; take things slow and try to make small but consistent progress.
