Hi, how much weight will I lose on a water fast? I really need to lose weight and I’ve heard that doing a water fast is an excellent way to lose weight quickly, but I don’t know how much weight will I lose on a water fast and I don’t want to do it if I can only lose like a few pounds. I need to lose 20 pounds or more. How much weight will I lose on a water fast? Is this a serious question? It is a tricky question that I do not really want to answer. Why not? Because I want to say that you cannot lose any weight on a water fast, but it would not be true. Unfortunately, you can lose a lot of weight quickly.

Going back to your question, I strongly suggest that you do not attempt to lose weight by doing a water fast. Fasting in general is not healthy – doing a water fast in particular, is very dangerous and ultimately counter productive. Since water does not contain any calories, you might as well call it starving. That is what it is – doing a water fast is starving.

Of course, if you starve yourself, you will lose weight. But it goes without saying that starving yourself to lose weight is the worst thing you can do. If you want to lose weight quickly, read this post. Please do not starve yourself.

Think about it, why would you want do to a water fast when you can easily lose weight by eating nutritious food? I am not talking about fancy diets and elaborate exercise programs, all you need to do to lose weight is to eat regular food, in moderation. If you do not need to lose a lot of weight, you do not even need to exercise. Just changing your eating habits should be enough to drop a few pounds, or a lot of weight, if you can eat sensibly for an extended period of time.
