According to Us Weekly‘s “How Brit Got Thin”, Britney Spears lost 26 pounds in one month without a personal trainer, Clenbuterol, or a nutritionist.

How did Britney Spears lose weight? While pregnant, Britney gave in to her cravings: chocolate, bags of Cheetos, and frequent trips to Wendy’s and Chili’s – – sounds familiar?

But that was then, now Britney Spears’ diet is different and it is clearly working for her, in her first two weeks of dieting she lost 12 pounds.

Britney Spears’ diet is simple – healthy snacks [fruit, nuts and low-fat yogurt] and six small meals a day. The days of simple carbs, such as pasta and white flour, are long gone.

It helps that Britney’s husband Kevin Federline is not sabotaging her weigh-loss effort, he “now goes out to get his fill of Mexican food and barbecue” and “he always offers to help out with the kids so she can work out.”

Speaking of Britney Spears’ workout, she did not drop all that weight just by dieting.

And what about her fast return to working out? Though Santa Monica, California, Ob-Gyn Lisa Masterson strongly recommends that women who deliver via caesarean section (as Spears did) wait six weeks before exercising (as Spears didn’t), the singer has been cleared to resume working out by her doctor.
She used to run 120 minutes a day while on tour. Her endurance is more than a normal person’s. For her fitness plan, however, Spears doesn’t get expert guidance. “She knows how to get back in shape,” her former trainer Bobby Strom tells Us. “She’s a pro”.

Britney Spears’ workout is nicely complemented by breast-feeding, which allows her to burn an additional 500 calories a day. She sticks to her workout routine six days a week – “treadmill for about an hour each morning, then lifting weights and doing situps in the evening.”

If the sources are correct, there is more to Britney Spear’ weigh loss – reportedly, she is trying to lose 35 pounds by Halloween, and she is doing it all for Kevin.

She wants to look amazing for the October 31 release party in West Hollywood for the aspiring rap star’s first album, Playing With Fire. “She wants the focus to be on Kevin”, adds the source, “not on how bad she looks.”

How bad she looks? She already looks as if she never was pregnant… Ditching 35 pounds by the end of October seems a little extreme. I hope Britney is not going for that “I am a walking skeleton” look.
