Must Try

She started the "I Fit and Healthy" Blog to document life and her pursuit of healthy living. By day she work in digital media and advertising. By night she’s a first-rate wife and mom of two crazy little girls! She is self-proclaimed addicted to her iPhone/iPad and always on the hunt for the latest health tools and fitness gadgets.

Amid a series of media reports suggesting that Nicole Richie is anorexic, Nicole denied having an eating disorder. Then a major news channel claimed that Nicole Richie is anorexic and getting a treatment at an eating disorder clinic, Richie denied that too.

And now Nicole Richie’s dramatic weight-loss is in the news once again. She is indeed seeking a treatment, but not for an eating disorder.

Unlike Kate Bosworth, who reportedly decided to gain weight without a professional help, Nicole “is working with a team of doctors and specialists whose focus is nutrition“.

So what is the problem? In fitness lingo, we call this a “hardgainer”. Apparently, according to her spinmeister publicist, Nicole Richie cannot put on weight. If that is really the case, an obvious question seems to be – does she actually eat?

She’s tired of everyone saying you don’t eat, because she does“, says a source close to Richie. That is the problem with so-called “hardgainers”. They always say that they eat – what they do not seem to realize – is that they do not eat enough calories to gain weight.

Of course, for a person with an extremely elevated metabolism (which Nicole does not have), or some other serious medical condition (which most “hardgainers” do not have), it takes more effort to gain weight.

Either way, it all comes down to a proper nutrition. Most people (including celebrities) do not need fancy doctors or personal trainers to get in shape. They do, however, need to know basic nutritional principles, which they would be able to use to either lose or gain weight.

Do yourself a favor; do not waste your time with “quick fixes” and fad diets. If you want to stay in good health – or if you need to lose or gain weight – the best way to go about it, is to follow a balanced diet and good exercise plan.

If you do not know where to start, I would recommend Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle program. It is not a fad diet, but it is easy to understand. It will give you the knowledge about a proper nutrition and exercise, which you can use at your own pace.
