Recent photographs of Kirstie Alley appearing frumpy are misleading and inaccurate, says a spokesperson for the weight-loss program she follows.

In fact, Kirstie has kept off the astonishing 75 pounds that she has lost since beginning her Jenny Craig campaign in January 2005. The speculation that Kirstie was at risk of being dropped as the face of Jenny Craig is also false.

Scott Parker, vice president of marketing at Jenny Craig, assures that Kirstie is still very much a part of their campaign and added that the actress is about to shoot another series of commercials for a publicity drive that will run in September.

“Kirstie continues to play an integral role in our advertising campaign strategy,” says Parker. “To see pictures that are designed to make her look her worst, that’s frustrating.”

Parker adds, “It’s a big deal to lose 75 pounds, but to keep it off for a year, that’s proof positive that Kirstie has learned about portion control, staying active and staying motivated.”

Kirstie not fazed The Fat Actress star, who once said, “No one else ruined me – I ruined me,” isn’t fazed by the misleading pictures, says her personal consultant at Jenny Craig.

Tania Azar, who has supported Kirstie through her weight loss, says the 5-foot-8 Kirstie has not once exceeded what they call the “five-pound gain.”

“In my opinion, I don’t think she gives the pictures the time of day,” says Azar. “She knows she hasn’t gained weight because she hasn’t. She’s always maintained within a healthy range of her goal. Just two weeks ago, she was actually slightly under her goal weight. She was about a pound under her 75-pound loss.”

“She gets letters about how great she looks,” says Azar. “She is inspired by the people that she’s inspired. She has a tremendous accountability in regards to keeping the weight off because people want to see her keep the weight off.”

Kirstie Alley’s diet plan. How does Kirstie do it? She writes down what she eats – not just the calories, but what it was and how she was feeling at that time. They’ll talk about her journal and how her eating went and how her activity is going. Journaling makes her more aware of what she’s putting in her mouth.

Her favorite foods? She likes organic foods. She eats a lot of fruits and vegetables, and she likes chicken and fish. She enjoys cooking.

Her favorite Jenny Craig meals? She loves the Sunshine sandwich, the chicken fettuccine, the turkey chili, the burrito. She loves the lemon cake and chocolate cake. She has a Jenny meal once a day. It’s easy for her when she’s on the run or when she comes home after a long day on set.

Does Kirstie splurge? She plans those. She’ll go, “I really want that caramel apple [180 calories],” and then she thinks, “Okay, well, if I had that caramel apple, I have to walk an extra half hour tomorrow.” [via]
