Britney Spears’ Dance Workout and Weight Loss

Britney Spears has lost 15 pounds in two weeks and uses dance workouts to sculpt her body back into shape.

Hours of grueling dance routines and endless sets of abdominal crunches are supposedly helping her shed fat faster than trying to convince an average person to eat broccoli at least once a day, which usually takes more than 6 months.

According to Rob Baker, owner and co-director of the Millennium Dance Complex, Spears has been making almost daily visits since leaving Promises last month. “Britney has been taking classes -jazz, hip-hop, even ballet. She currently does two hours a day. She looks phenomenal!”

Brit’s high-intensity dance routines can burn up to 1,500 calories per hour, says Santa Monica-based fitness trainer Andy Petranek. With Britney scheduling two-hour sessions, Brentwood, Calif., nutritionist Christine Bybee estimates she’s shedding about a pound a day!

Britney attends advanced level classes, then books additional studio time on her own as well. For her private sessions, Millennium provides a list of dancers for Brit to choose from. She usually requests between 10 to 25 dancers to join her, says Baker.

By the end of all her sessions, she has had a serious total body workout. “By taking these classes, Britney is working muscles from the tips of her fingers to the tips of her toes,” trainer Petranek explains.

“And by doing that, you are facilitating every part of your body and the large muscle groups like your legs, glutes, back, pelvis, hips and torso. That is one of the reasons she is getting such amazing results.”

In addition to dancing, Britney Spears is working out with her trainer Manny Bujold, and crunching like crazy. But here’s the thing: While most people don’t need to do even 50 crunches, Brit does an incredible 500 to 1,000 crunches – at a time, which is completely unnecessary.

“Britney’s six-pack is the result of cardio training plus crunches,” says Petranek. “She is working her abs to build the six-pack and training to lose the layer of fat. As the fat disappears, the six-pack is revealed.”

She’s also eating better. The former poster child for cheese curls and cola was recently spotted snacking on a bag of low calorie crackers.

But Britney isn’t putting all of her trust in workouts and health food. As sources have previously revealed she has also been getting LipoDissolve treatments.

She’s also planning a series of cosmetic surgeries, say insiders, including a breast lift, a lower-body lift and the removal of varicose veins caused by her two pregnancies. [via]
