Michelle Aguilar has almost quit The Biggest Loser, but she found a way to stay motivated, and she won. Did I mention that Biggest Loser‘s Michelle Aguilar lost an astounding 110 pounds? She did!

Michelle Aguilar’s weight loss is an enormous achievement that anyone can be proud of. In her case, however, she did more than just lose weight – her weight-loss journey has helped her reunite with her mom.

So how did Biggest Loser‘s Michelle Aguilar lose 110 pounds, and what does she eat now? She is planning to maintain Biggest Loser‘s 1,200-calorie daily meal plan but cut back her gym time for six-to-eight hours a day to two hours.

Here is how Michelle Aguilar became The Biggest Loser winner:

Get moving “Cardio, cardio, cardio – the more weight I took off, the easier it was to work in strength training because the weight wasn’t there,” says Michelle.

Get a buddy “If you’re wanting to binge or go crazy, call someone,” says Michelle, whose go-to gal was her mom.

Go green! “Get your vegetables in, whether you love them or not,” says Michelle. “They’re low in calories and will help fill you up so you don’t overeat the bad stuff.”

Be the boss “When you go out to eat, be high-maintenance,” says Michelle. “Go into the restaurant knowing what you want to eat and make the menu work for you.”

Wear fitted clothes “On holidays or birthdays, don’t wear your stretchy pants,” says Michelle. “On Thanksgiving, I wore a tight pair of jeans and Spanx so I wouldn’t want to overeat.”

Distract your mouth “When I have a craving, I whiten my teeth,” says Michelle. “You have to wait 30 minutes, and by then the craving passes.”

Dress the part “I learned that when I had fun workout clothes, I enjoyed working out more,” says Michelle. “I felt like I was dressing up to go somewhere!”

Look in the mirror “Trying on clothes is a great way to keep yourself motivated,” says Michelle. “It makes me think, It’s not worth it to go and eat something.”

Write it down “It’s important to keep a food journal” says Michelle. “I m not a big fan of doing it myself, but they say people lose about 20 percent more weight if they’re writing down everything they eat.”

Forgive and forget “I’ve learned that you can have a bad moment and that it’s okay – but don’t let it become a bad day or bad week or bad month,” says Michelle. [via]
