When scientists used garlic compounds to treat cancerous human brain cells, the compounds effectively killed off the diseased cells.

Bad eating habits like finishing his kids’ macaroni and cheese had helped put 290 lbs. on his 6′2″ frame. “I never crossed the 300-lb. threshold,” says Favreau. “But I was close.”

Favreau vowed to get healthier. And he did, shedding 85 lbs. in just eight months. His secret weapon? His wife, Joya, a doctor of internal medicine.

What’s your diet plan? I’m eating Susan’s Healthy Gourmet food again. It’s what I used on Celebrity Fit Club. I want to stick to that for life. They deliver food to your house.

It’s oatmeal, yogurt with fruit and granola, cottage cheese and cantaloupe or eggs for breakfast. For lunch, I love to eat these veggie burgers from Susan’s. I’m addicted, and I usually will take off the bun.

For dinner, I prefer eating salads with roasted vegetables. Sometimes I’ll have fruit, and veggie burger strips or tuna or chicken. It’s lighter, and you go to bed and feel like you’re shrinking your tummy a little, instead of eating a full meal. What made me go up to 154 pounds was that I used to eat pasta late at night with bread. (more…)
