Clenbuterol and all other weight-loss supplements, move over. Curvelle by iSatori is a new weight-loss supplement we have all been waiting for.
Maybe not all of us, because it was made for women. Curvelle (“natural weight loss for women”) contains cinnamon extract, raspberry ketone, elderberry extract, green tea extract, and caffeine.
iSatori says that “Curvelle was designed specifically for a woman’s needs when it comes to losing weight, healthfully.” It also makes beauty claims similar to those by NV, another rapid weight-loss beauty pill.
[…]your skin and hair should become more radiant, glowing; and inches lost from your hips, waist, thighs, and anywhere you have stubborn bodyfat or unwanted “bulges.”
iSatori does not say how much weight you can expect to lose, it only claims Curvelle “does work exceptionally fast.”
According to the company, cinnamon extract controls sugar cravings, raspberry ketone decreases absorption of fat, elderberry extract improves skin and hair, green tea extract promotes internal health, and natural caffeine boosts energy and metabolism.
Here is what I do not understand: Where is lipstick and mascara? Sure, neither would help a woman lose weight. But which ingredient in this supplement does help a woman lose weight? And why would it not work for a man?
Is there one scientific study behind Curvelle? Umm… no. iSatori does not reference any, but it does say there is a “solid scientific support behind the Curvelle formula.”
Rrright… which means the ingredients were studied (separately) with less than impressive debatable results in clinical trials – Curvelle’s formula, on another hand, has not been studied or proven effective for weight loss in clinical trials.
Cinnamon extract, for instance, “failed to show any detectible effect on blood sugar,” and a study where three grams of cinnamon were given to 79 people daily for four months, “found marginal benefits at most,” according to consumerlab.com (requires subscription).
iSatori also makes another interesting claim about raspberry ketone. It says that it is “found only in Curvelle.” Really? Hot-Rox Extreme is formulated with raspberry ketone and it has been on the market for a while.
All ingredients in Curvelle are combined in a proprietary blend (683 mg). Many companies use proprietary blends to safeguard their formula from competitors. I understand that, but as a consumer, I would like to know an actual amount of each ingredient.
Why would I need to know that? Because 683 mg for all five ingredients seems a little short.
For example, I have a properly formulated green tea supplement which provides (per each 1-capsule serving), 725 mg of powered green tea extract (epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG): 246.5 mg, other polyphenols: 427.75 mg).
The Curvelle’s proprietary blend, which also contains green tea and four other ingredients, is 683 mg.
So what is the bottom lime on Curvelle? I do not think it is a miracle pill, and if you decide to try it, it should only be used in conjunction with a good diet and exercise plan.
What is the good news? iSatori seems very confident of Curvelle’s ability to help you lose weight. If you order directly from them, they offer “an unconditional 100% 60-day money-back guarantee.”
Is there an alternative to Curvelle? It would be unfair to single out Curvelle, so I will say this: there is certainly a viable alternative to diet pills. In my opinion, diet pills do not work, but a proper diet and some exercise can do wonders for you.
If you do not want to waste your time, find a diet that you are comfortable with, otherwise you are not going to stick with it. If you do not know which diet to follow, have a look at this program or Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle.
Either of these programs is great, it is just a matter of personal choice. These are not some fad diets that promise unrealistic results, but they do work.
