In an interview with Self magazine (Cameron Diaz on Sex, Lies and Life as a Brunette: Will the real Cameron Diaz please stand up?), she spoke candidly on a number of interesting subjects.
Cameron Diaz on diet, gaining weight, and workout:
She stopped eating pork when she learned that pigs have a mental capacity similar to that of a 3-year-old child.
“But I started eating pork again, because it’s so goddamned good” she says with a smile as wide as a freeway. Food is one of my biggest pleasures. I love to eat. I love to cook. I love to feed people.”
Diaz follows no particular diet plan, other than eating what she craves in moderation and never, ever skipping breakfast. “My body functions best when I eat consistently. I pretty much eat the same thing every day for week at a time.”
In facts, she recently ate the same breakfast every day for months: garlic rice with broccolini, eggs, lemon and either chicken or beef. “I started making it when I’d go surfing, because I could go out for four hours and not get hungry and have the energy I needed.
And by the way, people would come over for breakfast all the time. It’s the best breakfast in the world.”
She’s not afraid of gaining weight.
“I certainly don’t want a tire around my waist or saddlebags, but I wouldn’t mind being a little thicker all the way around. Put a little muscle on.
But it’s not about how I look, it’s about how I feel,” she says. “Before Charlie’s Angels, I never exercised. Not a day!
I always associated it with pain and discomfort – something you do if you have to. Then, for the movie, we worked out eight hours a day, five days a week for three months, and I learned what it felt like to be strong.
Now that I know how that feels, I never want to be too far away from it.” Diaz tries to work out at home an hour a day five days a week. “I hate going to the gym, even though I’d probably be happier with my results if I did.
You can do more there, but there’s something about being in your own house and rolling out of bed,” she says. She spends 30 minutes on the elliptical trainer and 30 minutes or more doing light weight lifting and floor pilates.
“I love being physical. I love sweating. I love getting my heart rate up. I love challenging myself. Physically, I can do pretty much anything I put my mind to, and I like that feeling.”
Cameron Diaz on having big ass, being nude, sex, and Evian:
She washes her face exclusively with Evian.
False.
There are days when she looks in the mirror and wishes she could change her looks.
“I wish I had a porcelain skin,” she says. “And I always wanted a booty. Always! And that’s so hard coming from the family of Cubans. [Her father’s family came from Cuba.] Why didn’t I get the booty? Why?”
I general, though, Diaz is very happy with her body. In fact, she feels most beautiful in the nude. “I’m naked a lot,” she says. “I prefer it. When I don’t have clothes on, you can see I have a little bit of curve.”
She thinks sex is the best stress reliever.
“Sex is best for everything,” says Diaz, who has been dating Justin Timberlake, 25, for nearly four years. “It’s the best exercise. It’s the best way to pass the time. It’s the best way to spend an afternoon.
It’s the best way to do anything. It should absolutely be 100 percent part of everyone’s life on day-to-day basis. We’d all be a lot healthier!”
