Continued from The Twinkie Diet.
Potato Diet – real or not? Unfortunately, the Potato Diet is real. Does the Potato Diet work better than the Twinkie diet? No, it does not. Does the Potato Diet work better than clenbuterol? No, it does not. But it goes without saying that almost any diet is probably safer and more effective than using something like clenbuterol. So how does the Potato Diet work?
Well, it is extremely similar to the Twinkie diet, only instead of eating Twinkies, you eat potatoes. And just like the Twinkie diet, the Potato Diet proves that it is possible to lose weight by eating anything. How much weight can you lose on this diet? I am not sure if you can lose 20 pounds in 1 month on the Potato Diet, but the guy who invented this diet, has lost 21 pounds in addition to lowering his bad cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
It took him about two months to lose 21 pounds, which is not bad at all, but he has been living on 20 potatoes a day and nothing else. Now, I do not know about you, but even if eating potatoes was the healthiest thing in the world, I would not want to be on this diet. Do not get me wrong, I love French fries and baked potatoes. I just do not love them enough to not eat anything else.
In other words, I think it is a much better idea to follow a normal diet that does not exclude any major food groups. How can you lose weight by following a balanced diet? The rules are the same – i.e., you still need to pay a close attention to how much you eat, but you can eat everything in moderation. In addition to a balanced diet, the fat burning cardio and the sugar detox can significantly increase your chances of losing weight successfully.
So why would anyone want to eat only potatoes or Twinkies when you can lose 20 pounds, or any amount of weight for that matter, without depriving yourself of your favorite foods? I have no idea how to answer this question. All I know is that extreme diets do not work long term. Yes, the Potato Diet is an extreme form of dieting. [source: Dailymail UK]
