According to some experts, yerba mate is better for your health than green tea. It supposedly contains 15 amino acids and 24 vitamins and mineral, which help increase energy levels and even aid weight loss. But is it true?

Contrary to popular belief, yerba mate contains caffeine and other stimulants which are also found in coffee and cocoa beans.

Some studies seem to suggest that yerba mate may boost metabolism, but its effectiveness as a weight loss aid has not been proven.
