Workout Show on Bravo: New Workout Routines

workout routineIf you have not been following Work Out show on a Bravo channel, you are missing out on some serious testosterone and estrogen drama, but the Work Out show is a little more than that.

The show is a pick into the lives of personal trainers, their diet, training, and an effort it takes to build a top-notch workout facility with the clients that demand the best of the best.

When Work Out show aired on Bravo, its website had some useful diet and fitness tips, as well as exercise videos. Recently, the website has been updated with new video training tips, and step-by-step photos of some exercises.

The video section is interesting. In it, the trainers from the show explain proper techniques for a variety of exercises, such as dumbbell arm curls, abs and core exercises, how to use weights on a treadmill, elevated push-ups, incline dumbbell press, shoulders and rear deltoids exercises, and a bar workout.

It is nothing revolutionary, but the trainers are good at explaining and demonstrating how to do these exercises properly. If you are on the go, you can even get fitness tips and healthy recipes on your mobile phone.

    Hi Mary,

Don't know if you will come back and read this but Jackie had a great workout in Star Magazine last year. Virtually no equipment was needed, less than 30.00 really or you could up bottles of water if you needed it. I lost that issue but I emailed Star mag about getting another one. If I here back from them I will post it here.

I was wondering how to get my stomach flat. I don't want rock hard abs but I just want to be flat, Is there any workout routine that I can do to help?

As a life long athlete and a personal trainer, I AM APPALLED by what I see on this show. In order for a trainer to be good at what they do, trainers MUST UNDERSTAND BIO-MECHANICS, FINE MUSCULAR-SKELETAL ANATOMY, & THE BASIC FUNCTION OF THE NERVOUS SYSTEM (SOMATOSENSORY CORTEX, MUSCLE SPINDLE, ETC...)

Obviously, the lack of knowledge that these people possess (or do not possess) does not justify their extreme rates. Just one example of many highlights this simple fact.

One of the clients suffered a knee injury during one of Jackie's bootcamps. The woman was told to do a set of stationary lunges without being progressed properly. As a result, instead of being told to go see an orthopedic specialist and get an MRI, the trainer puts her into a knee extension and says "Let's try this" in order to "attempt" to "fix" the situation.

WHAT?!!! What a retarded, unprofessional lack of a thought process.

If you want to truly get in shape, it is up to the client to start asking these trainers serious questions and research their credentials. A trainer should possess nothing less than a graduate degree and a thorough understanding of anatomy and bio-mechanics in order to do this job effectively.

That $400 an hour they charge? You would get the same value if you went to L.A. Fitness, NYSC, or the like and "hired" one of their similarly qualified "professionals"

It is up to the customers of this country to start waking up and spending your money wisely. It is the responsibility of the fitness industry to begin the process of creating real professionals, not "pseudo-exercise experts" masquerading as professionals.

As a personal trainer I must say that this is a "what not to do show". The trainers are being hired not for their knowledge( there really isn't any) but more for their ability to create TV drama. You do not have overweight, untrained clients do jumping jacks (due to joint trauma), you do not have clients so inch worms when they can't do correctly either pushups or jump squats (client's form was horible, rounded back, knees buckling when jumping) and this is just from one show that i've seen.
They have no understanding whatsoever how to progress someone safely, or that form should be enforced over reps. No understanding of human mechanics whatsoever either.
For that kind of training quality just go to any other "top" training facility, such as 24hr Fitness, Bally's or LA Fitness. Just because it's overpriced it doesn't mean that it's any better.

Why does Rebecca and Peeler put up with Jackie treating them so badly? It looks to me like if somebody doesn't bow down to her(like Peeler and Rebecca) , she threatens to fire them or says some rude comment to them. Ease off them, Jackie! You're looking like an ass.

Hey Jackie...I only just discover your show last week...loved it so much that I had to tune into it this week just to see the out come of the new trainer you hired. The show I saw tonight was where you took you gang to a boot camp...again, I love it.

Here's my question...I've got those (which I just hate) love handles holding on to my waist-line. What sort of exercise should I be doing to make my waist line look like I don't have issues going on. No, I'm not in a gym right now.

Keep up the good work girlfriend...
    Cynthia
