Women Diet, Men Exercise
That was the conclusion of one recent study.
When it comes to weight loss, “women tend to use the diet approach and men use the exercise approach,” says Judy Driskell, Ph.D., professor of nutrition and health sciences at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
In a study, about one-third of the female undergraduate students (out of 181) and one-fifth of the male students (out of 105) reported that they have followed a weight-loss diet. [source: Journal of the American Dietetic Association]
