Wingate Power Test
Continued from VO2 Max.
Wingate Power Test Your anaerobic power capacity, in watts, is based on your peak power production and how quickly you fatigue. This one measures your ability to produce and sustain big bursts of energy.
How it’s measured On a bike hooked up to a computer, you complete several all-out bursts – usually, one for two minutes, a couple for 30 seconds, and two final 12-second sprints.
The computer analyzes your pedal stroke and records how much power you can generate for different time intervals.
How it’s used This is elite stuff that can help determine what type of muscle fibers you have, whether you’re suited to sprinting, and which exercises will help you develop peak power production.
