Walking to Lose Weight: Walking for Weight Loss
Even if you do not need to lose weight, walking is a great exercise to stay fit and healthy. But unpleasant weather conditions can put the brakes on your outdoor workouts, which is why I like the indoor walking-based routines on Walking for Weight Loss.
Yep, you can take a calorie-burning walk at home; no treadmill required and you do not need to worry about showers or a heat wave outside.
During the 30- and 50-minute programs you will walk in place, but you will also do intervals (jumping and jogging) and strength training (basic moves like squats and lunges).
The non-walking segments of Walking for Weight Loss were a nice change of pace, but the scenery was perhaps the most motivating part of this program.
You can “walk” while looking at oceans and cliffs, which you probably never see on strolls around your neighborhood. [via: Shape]
