He doesn’t lift weights, but trains his abs “Zabo” style with 1,000 crunches every day. (Irvin “Zabo” Koszewski, a competitive bodybuilder in the ’50s and ’60s, famously did 1,000 continuous reps of ab training daily.)

Usher also regularly does what he calls “40 minutes of funk”: stretching, rope skipping, jumping jacks, pushups, leg raises and triceps dips.

We can’t recommend his ab marathon or old-school circuit training for mass gains, but Usher does follow a modern bodybuilder-friendly diet of grilled chicken or fish, moderate amounts of complex carbs and lots of vegetables.

There you have it. In other words, do not fall for fad exercise routines even if your favorite celebrity claims to use it. Follow a balanced diet, exercise, and you too shall have great abs.
