Celebrities are kind of notorios for sharing diet tips that are either counterproductive and or faddish. Trista Sutter’s diet tips, however, are different.

When it comes to dieting and weight loss, she knows what she is talking about. Just look at her body or better yet, look at Ryan Sutter’s body, her husband.

Here are Trista’s diet tricks that she says made a difference in her diet and helped her lose weight.

Cut your meal in half “If I get a cheeseburger, I’ll cut it in half before I even start eating,” says Trista. “If I don’t, I’ll wind up eating the whole thing. I’m usually full after having just half; we always get more food than we need at restaurants.”

Diet-friendly desserts to the rescue “I like to finish meals with something sweet,” says Trista. But instead of her favorite calorie-bomb brownie sundaes or Splenda-flavored treats, she dips strawberries or other fruit into Cool Whip Lite.

Another option? A few Nestle Crunch Dibs. “I absolutely love them because they’re bite-size,” she says. “You can just pop a few of them in your mouth and feel satisfied.”

Fries? What fries? “There’s absolutely no reason to eat fried food,” she says. But she does sneak fries off Ryan’s plate once in a while. “Even at the deli, you can get a side salad or fruit salad with your sandwich, instead of fries or chips!” says Trista.

The more colorful, the better “Try to include all the food groups in one meal,” she says. “Or try to eat something with color on your plate – like greens or an orange. If you look at your plate and it’s all white, it’s not a good thing.” [via]
