Too Much TV Makes You FatWe’ve all heard the news that too much TV time can make you, well, fat. But according to a study in the journal Obesity, too many hours in front of the TV can also make it harder to maintain weight loss.

Researchers analyzed data from 1,422 people enrolled in the National Weight Control Registry who had maintained a loss of at least 30 pounds for a year.

They found that people who increased their TV time gained an average of 9 pounds, while those who cut back gained only 2.

To keep lost pounds from creeping back, limit tube time to 10 hours weekly. [source: Women's Health]
