What is Time Under Tension? Why do you need Time Under Tension? Time Under Tension can be described as an amount of time it takes to complete a given set of exercises starting from the beginning of the first repetition to the end of the last repetition.
Now, some people define Time Under Tension differently, but the question is: Should you care about Time Under Tension at all? There are two schools of thought on this subject. Some claim that Time Under Tension is extremely important. Others basically dismiss Time Under Tension as a destruction. What do I personally think about Time Under Tension?
I tend to agree with the latter group. Why? Because, while this number could be useful for some athletes, its use is rather limited. For most people, Time Under Tension is an unnecessary destruction. If your goal is to lose weight or stay in shape, you do not need to spend your time on timing how much time you spend under the barbell. You need to focus on what you eat and how often you exercise.
