The Beetle Is Fat
Despite legendary German engineering, the Beetle is officially fat.
But according to this ad, Volkswagen has been hard at work trying to reduce its weight.
“[...] we have taken great pains to reduce this Volkswagen’s weight where it counts. Its price.”
I am probably reading too much into this, but the question is, are they trying to appeal to overweight people in the U.S. with this ad?
After all, it is not a secret that obesity is a serious problem for many Americans. Would an overweight person relate better to a “fat” car?
