Taco Bell: Nutrition and Calories

There has been a new addition to the Taco Bell’s menu. Is the Taco Bell’s menu getting better? Let’s take a look. The ad for Fresco Ranchero Chicken Soft Taco says the following:
“Fresco menu. Less fat. More taste.
When it comes to eating better, there’s the bland way. And then there are nine really delicious ways. Fresco Ranchero Chicken Soft Taco with 4 g of fat and only 170 calories. The Fresco menu. 9 incredible Taco Bell tastes under 9 grams of fat.
For a healthier lifestyle, pay attention to total calorie intake and to regular exercise. Taco Bell’s Fresco Menu can play a part by offering calorie reduction of between 20 to 110 calories compared to the corresponding product on our regular menu.”
Taco Bell’s nutrition and calories From the nutritional point of view, the new menu does look a little better. It is a bit lower in calories but it is still rather high in carbohydrates. The carbs roughly outnumber protein by a ratio of 2-to-1.
In addition, Fresco’s tacos are very high in sodium, the only exception being Fresco Crunchy Taco (370 mgs sodium), but the rest of them contain a staggering amount of sodium. The worst offender? Fresco Zesty Chicken BORDER BOWL, which contains an unbelievable 1600 mgs of sodium.
