Exactly how do you "look bulimic"? Anyone can suffer from it, and as far as the "has she ever weight 100 pounds comment" people with bulimia are actually usually of average weight or even a little bit on the heavier side. Lastly, People can certainly be pressured into feeling like they need to be skinny, especially if you're a celebrity, and especially if you're on some shallow t.v. show like the hills. do some research next time.

People die from eating disorders and they're not a joke. Moreso, people with eating disorders are not confused. They're anything but confused. They are determined, angry and unhappy with themselves, mostly because of their environment (i.e. hollywood, etc.) Thus why so many women all around the world have an eating disorder. You have NO idea and you better wish that you never have to experience bulimia. I never thought that I would make myself purge and let me tell you, it is a rude awakening. People would love to be healthy and fit but when you do not have time to over-exercise (which is a form of bulimia) or even do moderate exercise you become depressed and still want to lose the weight. You can only starve for so long and then the idea counteracts into overeating.

I agree with all of the letters here. The reason she is a normal weight is because she eats 5000 calories AND THEN vomits. She is in a bind: no way you can look like a movie star AND be a secret binger of a gallon of ice cream and a complete package of cookies (and believe me, that's what a binger will do). Hence, the self-hate and "solving" the binging problem with bulimia.

Seriously, I've never seen a more ignorant post on bulimia. Many bulimics are overweight and a growing number are normal weight (ie Stephanie). Thus, obviously, there's no way to "look" bulimic. Claiming to eat 5,000 calories and purge is exactly what bulimics do. She wasn't "confused" on how to diet, I can't believe you would misinterpret that. That's like saying a cutter is confused as to how to shave. But judging from your mental health knowledge you may not know what that is either. At least google a disorder before you accuse someone of faking it.

This post should be removed. Do your research before judging someone's condition. You obviously have very little understanding of WHAT bulimia is. Read up honey, you only make yourself look stupid. Maybe you think that she said she is anorexic...that of course would be contradictory to eat 5000 calories, however it is rather commonplace for bulimics to consume that amount (or more) remember, its a BINGING and purging disorder with deeply-rooted emotions and struggles. Lay off the girl, she is brave enough to be sharing her insecurities with the world, who are you to judge?

For anybody to make the claim that Stephanie is LYING about her eating disorder on the basis that she does "look" sickly or did not adhere to some notion of a "bulimic diet" is bs. There is nothing glamorous about bulimia, and she stands nothing to gain by creating a fictitious story.

binging can involve ingesting up to 5,000 calories, prior to purging. that is what bulimia means. i've been bulimic for many years on and off, and to a non eating disordered person it wouldn't make sense. it's not logical. many bulimics starve themselves and then develop an unhealthy relationship w food. they give in and eat, and binging/purging becomes a kind of release. it sounds unbelievable, but even if losing weight is the goal in the first place, it's less and less about the food. it's self abuse. it's hell. i don't know if she is bulimic or not, but unless you've battled an eating disorder you wouldn't get the full extent of hell one battles. unlike drugs, you have to eat every day. bulimics have distorted views of themselves and see themselves as fat, no matter what they weigh. i don't see how anyone would claim this kind of hell for attention.
