Soy Makes Babies Homosexual
Let us get something straight (no pun intended).
We are not big fans of soy.
In case you missed it, check out The Evil Soy Empire post, which explains why it seems prudent to stay away from the majority of soy-based products.
Having said that, some of the claims from A devil food is turning our kids into homosexuals are borderline delusional, to put it mildly.
“Soy is feminizing, and commonly leads to a decrease in the size of the penis, sexual confusion and homosexuality.
That’s why most of the medical (not socio-spiritual) blame for today’s rise in homosexuality must fall upon the rise in soy formula and other soy products,” says a nut case who apparently confused wishful thinking with science James Ruts, a chairman of Megashift Ministries.
It has been said that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, so what evidence does he have? None, zero, zilch. He says he is a “health-food guy” and he “seldom allows anything into his kitchen unless it’s organic.”
Clearly, that makes him an expert on endocrinology and eligible for the Nobel Prize. After all, the man has solved what has to be one of the most complicated mysteries of human physiology.
Got to run, our 16 oz double soy lattes and soy burgers have been seating on a desk for a while and getting cold.

I’m not sure which notion is kookier: that soy is harmful, or that it causes homosexuality. They’re just two crank ideas from opposite extremes of the political spectrum.

Oh yes, SOY makes us homosexual and that’s exactly why Asia is so overpopulated… We loves our soy. [/sarcasm]

I am VERY cautious about eating unfermented soy. It’s near the top of my list of dangerous foods. Soy isn’t as harmful if it’s fermented. Most or all of the damaging chemicals are destroyed in the process. You have to remember than Asians traditionally ate mostly fermented soy and little unfermented soy. Over here, it’s the opposite.

In Japan people drink a lot of Soya milk drinks, its used for cooking too in dishes such as tonyu nabe. Japanese people mostly eat Tofu which isn’t fermented but some people especially around Tokyo eat Natto which is fermented. Personally I have been eating tofu for years and have no problems.
