I need to know which fruits are slow carbs. Kathy V. [via Ask Questions]
Generally speaking, slow digesting carbohydrates, also known simply as slow-carbs, are found in fruits and vegetables that are high in fiber. Now, “high in fiber” is a subjective term, of course, but you cannot go wrong with the following fruits: raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries.
In my opinion, if you want to focus on slow-carbs in fruits, the list above is all you need. That having been said, it is important to eat a wide variety of fruits, and given the fact that other fruits are also relatively high in fiber, you can supplement berries with apples, persimmons, avocados (yes, avocado technically is a fruit), and pears.
