Slim-Fast Diet Review
Continued from No-Fad Diet.
Diet It uses Slim-Fast meal-replacement products.
Philosophy Participants control calories and lose weight by substituting a controlled meal replacement, such as a shake, bar, or juice, for a meal.
Components A Slim-Fast diet consists of meal-replacement products combined with a home-cooked dinner. As an example, the average Optima Slim-Fast shake contains 180 calories, 5 grams fiber, 10 grams protein, and 17 grams sugar.
Should you consider it? If you struggle to count calories or to control portions and want to limit temptation to overeat, give it a shot.
Designed for people who: Don’t like to cook or think about food too much and don’t mind drinking breakfast and lunch.
Opinion The meal-replacement products allow for a balanced diet; however, it’s hard to have a dining experience over an Oatmeal Raisin Meal Bar and a banana.
Eventually almost everyone wants a nice glass of Chardonnay, an apple wedge, and some Brie.
It can be useful to have these meal replacements on hand for times when your only alternative is a low-nutrient but calorie-dense vending machine option or fast-food fat feast. Note: To be continued…
