Semen Allergy

Does your girlfriend sneeze, itch or break out in hives after sex? You may not have the crabs – she could be allergic to your semen. This is no laughing matter, because semen allergies can be as deadly as a bee sting in susceptible people (i.e., anaphylactic shock).

The problem can trigger burning, swelling, itching, nausea, vomiting, hives and even respiratory failure.

The best treatment is desensitization therapy by a physician involving either injections of small amounts of semen or placing progressively larger amounts of your semen in her vagina.

Frequent sex is also important to maintain desensitization. Sperm-sensitive women should keep an epinephrine kit in case of a serious reaction. [sources: Paper presented at American College Allergy, Asthma, Immunology annual meeting; FitnessRx]
