Ricki Lake says she works out not to lose weight, but to stay taut and toned. And guess what? It’s working.

“I work out with a trainer three days a week at the gym in my house,” explains Lake. “We do weight training, mostly, and lunges and jumping jacks.”

Using a fitness expert to make her lean and mean is a first for Ricki, and she’s loving the benefits. “This is the first time in my life I’ve hired a trainer with the goal of being tight and firm, not to lose weight,” she admits.

What does she love to do to stay active? “I love swimming and I hike three times a week,” says Ricki. “I just love being outside.”

Ricki teams up with her trainer for one hour, three days a week, as well as doing Richard Simmons’ class when she can. Her workouts vary from day to day but typically they involve weight training. She works her upper body one day and lower body the next “I feel great afterward!” says Ricki.
