Papaya can be eaten like melon. Just cut it lengthwise, scoop out the seeds, and eat with a spoon. Squirt on a little fresh lemon or lime juice for added zest. Papaya is a tasty addition to fruit or green salads. Simply peel and cut as desired or use a melon bailer.

Papaya is also great as a topping for poultry or seafood. Chopped with cilantro and Italian peppers, it makes a good salsa for shrimp and scallops.

For a simple treat, cut a papaya in half lengthwise and scoop out seeds. Place cut-up oranges, banana, kiwi, or berries in each half. Then mix yogurt, honey, and mint together well and spoon over fruit before serving.
