Papaya Nutrition
Christopher Columbus called it the “fruit of the angels,” and it might just do heavenly things for your health. Papayas are sky-high in vitamin C and provide vitamin A, fiber, calcium, phosphate, magnesium, and potassium.
They also offer copper and more iron than most fruits for very little sodium, fat, or calories. Papayas make smart snacking — while they taste sweet, they’re relatively low in sugar. And this fruit is among the least contaminated by persistent, toxic pesticides.
The papaya has been used throughout history to clean and soften the skin and to tenderize meat. This exotic fruit contains a protein-digesting enzyme called papain, which may reduce stomach acid and ease indigestion.
Cass Ingram, DO, notes that papaya is ideal for heartburn and constipation, adding that papaya’s enzymes are powerful anti-inflammatory agents that may help reduce joint pain and swelling in arthritis sufferers. [source: Taste for Life]

Papaya Enzymes are very beneficial in aiding in digestion. I recommend trying papaya enzymes from GNC, very cheap and work very effectively. Best if taken after a meal to avoid the "bloat" feeling or feeling full!

I've been going to try papaya for years, but hadn't gotten around to it. After reading this I'll be sure to get one as soon as I can! Thanks!
