Padma Lakshmi’s workout is surprising. In what sense? Padma Lakshmi’s workout is surprisingly good, which some would argue is actually hardly surprising giving the fact that her job on Bravo’s Top Chef is to eat, a lot. If Padma Lakshmi’s workout would not be good, she would blow up like a puff pastry in no time, and we would be talking about whether or not she knows how to lose 15 pounds in 2 weeks.
One of the reasons why she can care less about sugar detox or going on the celery diet is because she generally follows a healthy, balanced diet. But Padma Lakshmi’s workout also deserves a lot of credit. She walks every day, is not afraid of weight training and perhaps most surprising of all, she can do triceps dips.

How do you stay fit? I try to walk every day for an hour on the treadmill on a steep incline. Then I use 8-pound weights to do three sets of 12 to 15 reps of a biceps move, three different shoulder exercises, plus one set of chest flies. I also do 25 triceps dips and two sets of 25 calf raises using 20-pound ankle weights.
25 triceps dips? Wow, that’s impressive! How many women do you know that can do even 3 triceps dips? I do not know any, but I know a few women that can eat 3 doughnuts in less than a minute. I am just saying…
