Nick Carter: Diet and Workout
Continued from Nick Carter’s Weight Loss.
Nick Carter is back, leaner and better looking than ever before. Just seven months ago, Nick was tipping the scale at 224, and that’s when he realized it was time to get in shape.
“I’d become depressed,” he says. “Something deep down inside of me said, I’m tired of being this person, and I’m a good-looking guy!”
So he devised his own better-body plan and lost more than 44 pounds from his 6-foot-1 frame, shrinking from waist size 38 to 34.
“I wanted to feel good, dance again and wear clothes I couldn’t before,” says Carter, who’s still striving to reach his goal weight of 175 pounds – though he’s already reached a major milestone. Carter says, “This is the least I’ve weighed since I was 16!”
Nick Carter’s workout First he hit the gym solo (to lift weights and use the elliptical machine) six days a week. In March, he began working with trainer Mike Hazard. They meet five days a week for an hour, alternating cardio, weights and boxing.
Nick Carter’s diet “My weight loss has really been because of watching calories,” says Nick, who read the nutrition information on everything he ate for six months and tallied his intake in a binder.
Now he eats every three hours (about 1,400 calories a day; think PowerBars and salads) and has cut back on alcohol, but allows a cheat day for indulging in ice cream. “It’s a job,” Carter concedes of dieting, but, he adds: “I like people looking at me now and not recognizing me!” [via]
