Nia Vardalos‘ weight loss plan is not sophisticated. What’s wrong with Nia Vardalos’ weight loss plan? We already know that Nia Vardalos’ weight loss became a reality after she learned about the power of a calorie shifting diet.
The downshift on calories has resulted in a pretty good amount of lost weight. She has not lost 10 pounds or so, she has lost a pretty good amount of weight. How much weight? She has lost 40 pounds! Great job, right? Sure, she should be proud of it.
So there is nothing wrong with Nia Vardalos’ weight loss plan, but what you probably do not know about her weight loss is that she was basically ordered by her doctor to lose weight.
That’s right, Nia’s weight gain got so out of control that she has developed high blood sugar and dizzy spells, and that is when her doctor told her to lose weight. Surprisingly, she knew how to lose weight without stupid detoxes (that do not work anyway), without clenbuterol, or other embracing diet fads that so many celebrities often use in their clueless attempts to lose weight in record time.

Smart move! “That’s when I started to notice all the cheese, cheese, cheese. Seriously: I would make out with a piece of Brie if I could!” she says. “So I broke up with cheese, and that really worked for me.”
In essence, she has dramatically reduced her daily calorie intake, but I suspect it was not all about the cheese. I bet she was eating a lot of simple carbohydrates, which, together with cheese, made her almost diabetic.
Nia Vardalos’ diet Three meals a day plus four snacks (think fish, poultry and vegetables). She snacks on moderate carb foods such as a combination of turkey with cantaloupe.
As for exercise, she walks for 30 minutes every day. “I’ve always loved my body – it was never about that Hollywood pressure to lose weight,” says Vardalos. “I just wanted to feel better.” [via]
