New Fat Vaccine
Researchers at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California, have developed a vaccine that produces antibodies that disable the fat-promoting hormone ghrelin.
In early tests, study subjects ate normally but gained less than half the weight that placebo-group subjects gained.
The vaccine is still being tested, and it will be at least three years before it’s available for doctors to administer to patients.
