Milk: Weight Loss

Remember Ali Vincent? The first ever female Biggest Loser, is in the latest “milk aids weight loss” propaganda ad.
The ad says the following:
“It feels good to lose [weight]. It also feels god to win. So along with eating right and keeping fit, I drink milk. Drinking three glasses of lowfat or fat free milk a day helps you get the calcium and nutrients your body needs. Plus, the protein helps build muscle. Now that’s a strong finish.”
So do you need to drink milk to lose weight? Do you need to drink three glasses of milk a day to lose weight? Vincent lost over 100 pounds, but I doubt her weight-loss success has anything to do with drinking moo juice.
The bottom line: If we do not pay attention to the studies sponsored by the dairy industry, there is no compelling scientific evidence that you need to drink milk to lose weight.
