Michelle Aguilar’s weight loss was successful because she learned how to change her eating habits. Of course, Michelle Aguilar’s diet had to go through a rather dramatic transformation.
Now she understands that food should not be used for comfort and that stress contributes to weight gain. So how did Michelle gain and lose weight? Here is Michelle Aguilar’s diet then and now.
Breakfast Aguilar would start the day with a large portion of eggs, bacon and a biscuit. “I’ve got a lot more knowledge about food now,” she says. Now: Protein shakes with fruit “fill me up and allow me to get out the door and get going,” says Aguilar.
Lunch Like her mom, Aguilar is a big fan of Mexican food and lunched on a high-fat combo of tacos, rice and beans, plus chips and guacamole. Now: “Just like everybody else, I’ll go get a Subway,” says Aguilar of the chain.
Snack “I’m still the girl who loves sweets,” Aguilar says of treats like peanut butter cups. Now: Mini Clif bars: “They’re more a snack size.”
Diner Lots of red meat and fried food helped Aguilar pack on the pounds. “It’s not the outlet I turn to anymore,” she says of using food for comfort. Now: Chicken and vegetables. “I take in about 1,200 calories a day,” she says. [via]
