Master Cleanse Is Not Dead, Still Stinks

The Master Cleanse is so yesterday! Or so I thought. Clearly, despite the fact that it is an overhyped weight-loss fad, the Master Cleanse is still around.
The latest ad seems to suggest that a combination of the Master Cleanse and some other cleanse, called The Vibrant Cleanse, somehow translates to a rather powerful weight-loss aid called The Convenient Organic Lemonade Diet, which sounds similar to The Lemon Juice Diet, but who cares?
I cannot believe people still think that they can drink some sugary water with cayenne pepper and lose weight. Anyway, here is what the ad says:
“Lose 5 to 10 Pounds in 7 Days!!! Get rid of toxins! Feel more energy! Get rid of that bloated feeling! Tastes great!”
Wow, I am impressed, 10 pounds in 7 days and it tastes great, what can be better than that, right? Not! To lose 10 pounds in 7 days, one would need to drop 1.5 pounds every day for seven consecutive days, which is pretty much impossible.
Okay, maybe it is not impossible, if you starve yourself for a week (which is obviously a very bad idea), but there are no studies linking a concoction of sugar, lemon juice and cayenne pepper with weight loss, let alone something as dramatic as dropping 10 pounds in a week.
