Low Carb Vegetarian Diet
The low-carb vegetarian diet may seem a little tricky and even counterintuitive. After all, a low-carb diet is all about protein, protein, and more protein.
Not to mention that vegetarians are generally perceived as healthy individuals who are not likely to be overweight.
So why would they be interested in a low-carb vegetarian diet? The perception could be misleading. A number of devoted vegetarians have shared with me the fact that they are overweight.
Despite their best efforts to eat a balanced vegetarian diet, they cannot seem to get enough protein. In turn, this seems to hinder their exercise and weight-loss performance.
They have asked me if I would recommend a vegetarian Atkins diet, or maybe some other low-carb vegetarian diet plan. To be honest, I have never heard of a vegetarian Atkins diet, so I cannot recommend it.
However, a low-carb vegetarian diet seems to be doable. The fact that vegetarians eat plenty of fruits and vegetables is a big plus. Some people have mentioned that they eat eggs, fish and other seafood, which makes this whole low-carb vegetarian idea a little easier.
To lose weight, I recommend that you limit your carbohydrate intake to fiber-rich vegetables and berries. Other fruits are okay in moderation. As for protein, you can use beans, tofu, and perhaps protein powders. Cheese, eggs, any kind of fish, and seafood are obviously welcomed as well.

I used to wonder about obese vegetarians until one told me about how they would batter deep fry TVP, and it all became much clearer

I live a low carb vegetarian lifestyle and weigh 100lbs . It’s not that hard actually. I eat healthy nuts like almonds, yogurt, tofu and other meat substitues, lots and lots of beans in soups and on salads. You just have to be creative so that things don’t get boring.

I have been a vegetarian for a year now. I live in dorms and my college decides what I eat. My old college gave vegetarian options and I had no problem eating healthy. I just recently transferred to a college that does not offer any vegetarian options. I am left with eating any side dishes or salad bar to sustain me. Since all I eat is carbs I have gained a little extra fat. I have access to a minimal kitchen, but I do not know how to cook low crab vegetarian foods. Any low carb recipes that are relatively quick and simple to cook?
