Are low carb tortillas better than spinach tortillas? Not necessarily. Low carb tortillas contain a lot of fiber and they are, of course, low carb, which is perfect if you want to have something similar to bread in your diet while limiting your carbohydrate intake.
Spinach tortillas do not contain as much fiber as low carb tortillas and they are not as low in carbs as low carb tortillas. My favorite brand of low carb tortillas? La Tortilla Factory. They make absolutely awesome low carb tortillas. Check this out:
One low carb tortilla (La Tortilla Factory) contains 12 grams of fiber, only 6 grams of carbs, 80 calories, and they made with whole wheat. 12 grams of fiber! That is a huge amount of fiber in just one tortilla.
Are spinach tortillas better than white ones? Check the label to see if the tortillas are made with whole grain flour, which means they contain more fiber and nutrients than white tortillas.
If spinach tortillas are not whole grain, they may contain a little vegetable puree for added flavor and color but are not a better nutritional choice than white tortillas.
Choose whole grain or low carb tortillas most of the time and watch the portion size. A 12-inch tortilla can contain twice as many calories as a 6-inch tortilla.
