Low Calorie Snack Ideas
Continued from Healthy Snack Ideas.
Popcorn Movie buffs rejoice! A typical three-cup serving of popcorn contains less than 100 calories and less than 1.5 grams of fat. These low-calories snacks are technically whole grains, which have a number of antioxidants not found in veggies or fruits.
They also contain B and E vitamins, fiber, and magnesium. To make popcorn a healthy low-calorie snack, get the plain one and stay away from the “movie theatre butter” or caramel flavors because they are usually high in calories, trans fat, and sugar.
Yogurt Here’s a pretty good source of bone-building calcium, with 415 milligrams —accounting for about 42 percent of your daily recommended intake in a 1-cup serving.
Since you are probably interested in low-calorie snack ideas, go for nonfat or low-fat varieties. I usually do not recommend those because they are high in sugar, but I have seen some new brands that use natural sugar substitutes.
