Lose Weight While You Sleep

Lose Weight While You SleepLose weight while you sleep - impossible? Counterintuitive? Preposterous? Yes, yes and yes – yet it is true. Now that the initial shock from this revelation is wearing off, it actually makes perfect sense.

If you sleep more, you can cut some calories from your diet. Why? Because we are likely to chow down when awake, according to a weight loss study from University of Michigan.

Prediction: Now that this is out, I think it is only a matter of time until we start seeing “lose weight while you sleep on valerian root supplements - - that would be funny tragic.

In this study, they found that by replacing just 1 hour per day of “inactive wakefulness with sleep can result in a calorie reduction of 147 calories, or a weigh loss of “about 14 pounds per year.

It would be interesting to see an experiment, in which people who are overweight, try to lose weight using nothing but “sleep more” and “eat slowly: lose weight” methods. Any takers?

I can guarantee this would work if I used it, and I'm certain I'm not alone. I cannot sleep more than 4-6 hours per night, and the sleepier I get the more I eat, and the stuff I eat is definitely of the very high-fat, very unhealthy variety (I'm a sweet/fat freak). I probably wouldn't even have to *diet* to lose quite a bit of weight. That would be the perfect way to do it, no?

It seems like a perfect way to lose some weight. No dieting. Just sleep a little more.
