Lose Weight by Walking

I have a goal to lose weight. Anywhere from 10-25 pounds. I try focus more on inches than pounds. Anyways, I am not a fan of running, I lack the endurance. I like walking. However, can you lose weight by walking and if so how do I go about doing this? Is 30 minutes sufficient say at a speed of 3.5 and incline maybe 1-3? Thank you ifitandhealthy! Nicholai. Can you lose weight by walking? You can lose weight by walking, assuming you walk with enough intensity to expand more calories than you consume. I do not know if 30 minutes of walking would be enough for you to lose 15 pounds or so. The reason why I cannot give you a definitive answer is because you have not provided any information about your diet or your daily calorie intake.

Having said that, I think you should experiment with the walking intensity and make adjustments based on the results you get. But before you do that, make sure that you have cleaned up your diet. Sugar detox is awesome. If you have not tried it yet, go for it. Use the high fiber foods list to enhance your diet, and try to eat some kind of protein with every meal. Once your diet is under control, focus on walking.

Start by walking 30 minutes a day for a week. If you feel good but not making any progress, either change the speed and the incline or walk longer. Do not be afraid to experiment, try different combinations and see which scenario works best for you. Above all, watch for the signs of overtraining. If you do not feel good after your walk, take it easy and contact your doctor as soon as possible.
