You may want to hit the gym hard, but celebrity trainer and author of One Body, One Life Gregory Joujon-Roche advises putting the weights down. “You don’t want to stimulate your muscles,” he explains, because then, “your body will be in recovery and may be a bit puffy” for the event.
I don’t know where he got this idea. Unless you have a significant muscle mass – which most people don’t – you will not look puffy. I guarantee it! So, what can you do if you need to lose 5 pounds fast?
Instead of using weights, do an hour of cardio first thing in the morning, making sure it’s longer in duration than intensity, Joujon-Roche says. He adds that doing a slow jog for an hour will “cycle out inflammation and impurities.” And don’t forget the water.
The number-one thing Joujon-Roche tells his clients is to drink half their body weight in ounces of water (so, if you weigh 140 pounds, drink 70 ounces). And after you’ve done everything you can, the best way to lose 5 pounds fast, he says, is to “walk tall and be beautiful. Own it!”
