Given enough time, you can lose 100 pounds or you can lose 150 pounds. But your weight-loss goal has to be realistic. So let’s see, is it possible to lose 150 pounds in 5 months?
To lose 150 pounds in 5 months, you need to lose 30 pounds a month. To accomplish this goal, you need to lose weight at the rate of 7.5 pounds a week for 20 consecutive weeks. Some people can lose up to 10 pounds in the first week. The closer you get to your target weight, the harder it becomes to lose the last 10 or 15 pounds, but that is not the point.
The point is that nobody can lose 7.5 pounds a week for 20 consecutive weeks. Your focus should be on losing 2 or 3 pounds a week, which is a universally accepted and recommend weight-loss rate.
The good news is that you seem to be on the right track. You have changed your eating habits, and you understand the importance of being physically active. Keep it up!
