If your goal is to lose 15 pounds in 10 weeks, you will need to lose 1.5 pounds a week for 10 weeks. Is it possible to lose 15 pounds in 10 weeks? In my opinion, yes, it is – most people should not have any problems losing about 2 pounds a week. Will you be able to lose 15 pounds in 10 weeks by running 2 miles a day? I do not know. It all depends on how many calories running burns.

In other words, running burns a different amount of calories for different people. It is impossible to predict if running 2 miles a day for 10 weeks will be enough for you to accomplish your weight-loss goal. Monitor your weight-loss progress – i.e., follow your diet, do the running, etc – if you are not losing weight in about two weeks, make adjustments to your diet and exercise intensity, but do not drop your daily calories below 1,300 calories a day and do not exercise for more than 40 minutes.

And it goes without saying that prior to changing your current diet and activity levels you have to get an explicit permission from your doctor.
