Because you need to know which carbs are good for you and which carbs are not good for you. For example, white carbohydrates, for the most part, are not good for you. On the other hand, brown carbohydrates, for the most part, are good for you.

If you consume white carbs, which is an okay thing to do once in a while, you might want to get familiar with the sugar detox, which should help your body recover from an over-consumption of white carbs. All things being equal, there is no real difference between the two lists. White carbs are bad. Brown carbs are good. It is as simple as that. Sure, when it comes to nutrition, some people get that uncomfortable feeling with an oversimplification of certain nutritional concepts, but sometimes there is no reason to make things more complicated than they are. Sugar is bad for you. Brown rice is good for you. Eating glazed donuts every day is bad for you. Eating apples every day is good for you.
Too simple? Perhaps. But for me, the simpler the better. I would rather spend my time on, say, trying to improve my exercise program than on minor nutritional differences between French fries and soda. Use your time wisely. Focus on an area that needs the most improvement and, once improved, provides the most benefits.
