Lipo 6: Nutrex Lipo 6 Review
Lipo-6 from Nutrex claims to be the most powerful fat-burner on the market.
In fact, it is so good that it “was awarded the title of Fat-Loss Product of the Year in 2005,” says the company’s marketing material.
According to Nutrex, “Lipo-6 is clearly anyone’s best choice when it comes to weight-loss products.
The scientists at Nutrex Research succeeded in formulating Lipo-6 to be the first and only product that combines speed, strength and gender specific benefits.”
Gender specific benefits? This is not the first time we come across such claims. Do you remember Curvelle and NV (rapid weight-loss beauty pill)?
Lipo-6 claims to burn fat fast, target trouble areas (i.e. stomach, love handles, lower back), control appetite, increase energy, and boost metabolism. Nutrex explains: “The ingredients in Lipo-6 have been shown to have unique gender specific benefits.
In men they specifically target male trouble areas such as your stomach, love handles, and lower back. In women Lipo-6 attacks trouble areas such as your tummy, buttocks and thighs.
By stimulating local alpha-2-receptor sites Lipo-6, like no other product, increases energy expenditure and hence fat-loss in those critical and hard to reach areas.” These claims sound as if this is a promo ad for laser liposuction, a.k.a. SmartLipo.
The major difference, of course, is that SmartLipo was recently approved by FDA, and can actually spot reduce trouble areas. Lipo-6, on another hand, has no published studies proving its effectiveness as a weight loss aid - - forget gender specific fat reduction.
So what is the straight dope on Lipo-6? It does contain several stimulants (Synephrine HCL, Synthetic Guggulsterones, Yohimbine HCL, Bioperine, and Caffeine), which could help increase metabolism.
However, SupplementWatch.com had this to say about Lipo-6: “It is possible that this supplement may help you burn fat and immediately increase your energy because it contains stimulants.
Though the “before and after” pictures Nutrex’s website sure are convincing, Lipo 6 cannot target specific localized receptor sites like drugs can. [...] Additionally, this product is not “scientifically engineered to be used by women” as claimed. [...]
Editor’s note – this ingredient profile indicates that Lipo-6 is FAR from being a natural supplement and is instead an ill-conceived over-the-counter version of synthetic speed.”
We cannot agree more, if you decide to try this product, make sure to consult your physician prior to taking any supplements, including Lipo-6.
