Lily Allen: Hypnotherapy Weight Loss
While hypnosis has been sanctioned by the American Medical Association to treat a number of conditions, weight loss is not one of them.
But Lily Allen – who once called herself “fat and ugly” and said that she is proud of not being obsessed with her looks – has turned to hypnotherapy to lose weight.
Hypnotherapist Susan Hepburn, who worked with Lily, says that she no longer sees Lily for weight loss. Lily has said, “After the hypnotism, I want to go to the gym every day, otherwise I feel really bad. I just want to get more toned and healthy.
I’ve never been happier.” Lily seems to be more confident in her own skin since she was just signed as the new face of Agent Provocateur. She says, “I’ve lost some, but I’m not skinny, I’m healthy.”
So, if you need to lose some weight, should you try hypnotherapy? Can you be hypnotized thin?
The answer is: No. Hypnotherapy does not aid weight loss. I could not find one legitimate scientific study to support a claim that hypnoses is an effective tool when it comes to shedding extra pounds. [source: OK!]
