Lauren Conrad: Diet and Workout in Shape

Lauren Conrad Diet and Workout in ShapeCan someone please explain to me why Lauren Conrad is on the cover of the latest issue of Shape magazine? What is next, Spencer Pratt on the cover of Muscle & Fitness telling us how he helped Brody Jenner to get six-pack abs?

Okay, she is a star of the MTV reality series, The Hills, she is socially active and I think she has a great personality, but does she really deserve to be on the cover of Shape? Have you seen her first reality show, Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County?

I have never seen her go to the gym on that show even once. As far as I know, Lauren has never been overweight and she does not exercise regularly.

She says, however, that “Almost every single friend of mine, at some time, was overly body-conscious to the point of being unhealthy.”

Lauren has never been too thin, but whenever one of her friends seemed to be losing too much weight, the girls would stage an intervention. “We’d take her out to lunch and say, ‘We’ve noticed you’re getting too thin,’ and then we’d order pizza and talk about it. Nothing accusatory or anything, just, ‘We’ve noticed,’” says Conrad. Right on, that is a smart way to deal with a situation like that.

Lauren Conrad’s diet Lauren says that she “used to have love fast food,â€? but not anymore. Currently, her favorite breakfast consists of an egg white omelet, a glass of iced tea with Splenda, and sautéed veggies.

Lauren claims that she eats six small meals a day, think lean protein and vegetables. She also snacks on fruit, nuts or some peanut butter. She consumes about 1,500 calories a day and admits she still craves pizza, tacos, and pasta.

How does Lauren deal with her food cravings? She makes a taco salad minus fried tortilla and raps sandwiches in lettuce leaves rather than flat bread. In essence, she follows a low-calories-low-carb diet.

Lauren Conrad’s workout Lauren’s personal trainer, Jarett Del Bene, got her into a twice-a-week routine consisting of weight training, running on the treadmill and kickboxing. “Jarett has me do a lot of reps with smaller weights because he’s not trying to build muscle so much as get my body toned,â€? says Lauren.

Actually, she would get toned much better and probably faster with heavier weights. But she says that she wakes up every day with sore muscles, so maybe the weights are heavy enough for her. [via]

i think you are all wrong. lauren has always had a very strict diet that she sticks too very well. just because she doesnt film shoes in the gym doesnt mean that she doesnt work out normally. shes also never been fat or overweight, lauren is very skinny and i think that people tend to think a lil extra in small amounts in areas means there not in shape but its all about being healthy.
